TG Omori is a Nigerian top cinematographer. Born in the year 1995, he is a native of Cross River State, Nigeria.
The name, TG Omori is an abbreviation of his full name, Thank God Omori.
TG Omori started making videos from the early age of 16,
but took it up professionally at age 18 after film school. had his start as a director at 15 while overseeing stage plays in his school and church. He graduated from Pencil Film Institute at 18, making him the youngest professional filmmaker in Nigeria at the time.
“Well I ventured into music video directing because I was a rapper in between this period when I was making viral video contents for friends, I had a strong love for acting, thinking of creative ideas and bringing them to life, my first love was acting though but after a stressful chase to break in to the movie industry as a teen actor seemed impossible I thought I try my hands in directing to add value to my creative
There I started learning cinematography and editing on youtube, and had to rent cameras to practice with my hood friends who did rap music
From there I got offers to direct standard budget videos.”
TG Omori’s first professional music video was ‘Respect A Woman’ by ES PLUS in 2016.
“Well I had different levels of big breaks
First was in 2016 when I shot my first video that made it on tv
Second was in 2018 when I shot ycee myside video
And I think in may 2019 was the climax when I shot the most controversial video in n Nigeria at the time Naira Marleys am I a yahoo boy.”
He has since built an outstanding portfolio, working with top African artists such as Olamide-oil- gas, Naira Marley-Soapy, Zlatan and Tiwa Savage- Shotan, Timaya-2stoopid, Olamide, wizkid and ID cabasa-Totori , among others.
